At Flooring Superstores, we carry a wide range of laminate products that give you the look of wood for less—and their snap-and-click installation makes for a quick and easy new flooring project.

There are countless tutorials for the avid D-I-Yer along with detailed manufacturer brochures that will help you with your laminate installation. Or you can leave installation to us!

If we’re taking care of installation, our installers will come take a measure of your areas. There are a few things you can do to prepare:

It’s a good idea to be on hand when the installers arrive so you can help them set up. After the install, you may want to give your new laminate a vacuum and damp Swiffer. You’ll find that maintenance is a breeze.

Laminate has become the go-to hardwood alternative for active households. It’s versatile, cost-effective, and low maintenance, while having the look and texture of solid wood or tile.

Laminate’s 4 layers are what makes it so durable:

Backing:

This layer provides structural integrity and a barrier to moisture.

Core:

Depending on the manufacturer, the core is often made with high or medium density fiberboard. These are engineered wood products that are treated to make them very hard.

Photographic Layer (Décor Layer):

Under the top layer is a high-resolution image of a real hardwood board, which is what gives laminate the appearance of real wood species such as oak, ash, hickory, cherry, walnut, maple, and more.

Wear Layer:

The surface seals in the photographic design, creates the texture of the product, and provides protection against wear and tear.

Low Maintenance Flooring for Active Households

All it takes is regular sweeping or vacuuming and occasional spot-cleaning with a lightly-damp cloth for spills. Ask our Flooring Consultants about the laminate-specific cleaning products we carry in-store.

MAKE YOUR FLOOR LAST

Less is more:

• Never mop or flood your floor.
• Don’t use oil soaps, wax products, or products that contain lemon oil, tung oil, bleach, polishes or ammonia.
• Avoid scouring products, steel wool, and other abrasives.
• Prevent scuffs with felt pads on furniture bottoms.
• Keep pet nails trimmed.
• Do not wear high heels, spiked, or damaged footwear on the floor.
